Yellow Hibiscus
The yellow hibiscus is the second most sought after hibiscus flower color. That single yellow bloom has emerged in modern times as a common garden hibiscus displaying many different shades of yellow such as the Old Yella hibiscus plant. The yellow hibiscus plants of today offer brilliant shades of yellow along with subtle shades of yellow intermingled with unique central bloom colors.
The yellow hibiscus flower can now be seen displayed on hibiscus plants that range in height from 4 to 8 feet. The colorful shades and depths of the yellow flowers are diverse and spell binding. Spectacular, brilliant, yellow flowers 6” to 8” across, are borne most of summer and fall. The blooms last only one day, but new ones open daily.

The yellow hibiscus flower can be found on hardy hibiscus plants or on the tropical hibiscus. So, no matter where you live, you can enjoy the yellow colors of so many hibiscus varieties. Of course, a green house may be needed in zones 2 and 3 to grow either the hardy or the tropical hibiscus.

Follow the normal planting instructions for the yellow hibiscus. Plant in good organic soil and provide adequate moisture until the plant is well established. Place the yellow hibiscus in a location where it will receive at least 6 to 8 hours of full sun each. Enjoy those gorgeous yellow flowers!
